The 252nd Combat Communications Group Received the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award for the period 1 January 1983 to 31 December 1984, with the 244th Combat Communications Squadron sharing in the award. This is the third time that the 244th has received this recognition.
The 244th Combat Communications Squadron received an Excellent rating for the Operational Readiness Inspection (ORI).
The 244th Combat Communications Squadron received the Air Force Communications Command (AFCC) Air National Guard Outstanding Unit Achievement Award for 1984.
Congressman Les AuCoin conveyed his "deep respect and congratulations to all members of the 244th" for their excellent rating in the ORI.
Members of the 244th participated in exercise Team Spirit 84, South Korea.
Exercise Cornet Bronco was held in Turkey, with 244th personnel participating.
The 244th supported ANG/HAP camp 1984. Congressman AuCoin also commended the Guard for the many contributions which personnel have made to make the camp a success.
Staff Sergeant Jeffrey D. Anderson was selected as the Outstanding Unit Senior Airman of 1984.
