The first major accomplishment of 1994 was the Quality Air Force Assessment. This was the first time the unit had been inspected under the new Air Force Inspection Criteria. The inspection was the culmination many hours of learning, training and preparing for it.
The second major accomplishment of 1994 was the planning and execution of Eagle Strike ’94 as a limited operation and ancillary training environment. It was a 10-day Annual field Training exercise at Camp Rilea, Oregon. More than 300 people attended classes and participated in exercises on everything from fiber optics to chemical warfare. Deborah Lee, assistant secretary of defense in charge of reserve forces, visited Camp Rilea during the training exercise. The Units joining the 244CBCS operation were The 252CCGP and The 154ACG.
The process of this operation was conducted in four phases, as follows:
The workcenters of the 244CBCS were tasked to provide people and equipment to support the mission and goals of Eagle Strike’94. Workcenters prepared and deployed personnel and equipment to Camp Rilea for the purposes of both practical operation training and academic classroom training. The results of the effort were an improvement in unit command and control, SORTS reportable status and the ability of members in the 244CBCS to deploy anywhere in the world and accomplish their communications responsibilities.
The Motor Vehicles Section completed the project of restoring a Korean era truck to like new condition for the Ft Stevens State Park Military Museum.
