244 Combat Communications Squadron

In April the unit conducted an in-garrison 36 hour exercise at Portland IAP, Oregon. A satellite link was run with Camp Roberts, California and a TRC-170 wideband system to Mt Livingston and back.

In May the unit conducted an in-garrison 8 hour exercise at Portland IAP, Oregon and connected via satellite to Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

In October the unit conducted a proof-of-concept electrical test of Operation Firefly 03.

Annual Field Training was rescheduled from July until Novermber. The unit deployed to Amedee Army Air Field, Herlong, California for Operation Firefly 03. The 244th Combat Communications Squadron and the 272nd Combat Communications Squadron supported the 170th Air Trafic Control Squadron providing a communications link from Amedee AAF, California to Kingsley Field, Oregon.
